About Business SJ

Business SJ small business group

Business SJ was launched in July 2017 by the Community Resource Centre (CRC) in response to a growing need for a local business group.

The group formed in the  Serpentine Jarrahdale shire to help support one another and grow the small business community. Upon becoming a member, you were invited to various networking opportunities within the local area.

A new direction

In late 2018 it was decided by the new committee that the group was ready to spread its wings and fly solo. In January 2019 the group separated from the SJ CRC and became a separate not for profit incorporation. This had the blessing of the CRC board.

The move, and a new invigorated committee, and with the creation of a new strategy plan, has seen Business SJ thrive. With a continually growing membership base and a strong social media presence, Business SJ Inc. is growing.

Slowly but steadily, we’re fast establishing ourselves as a key local resource for local small business. We offer great value to our membership such as: networking events, educational workshops and business showcase opportunities. Business SJ works with government bodies, small business hubs and the business community within the SJ Shire and beyond.

Alyssa Hayden

After serving our community as your local State Member of Parliament, I have chosen to team up with another well-known local name, Travis Grogan, at O’Neil Real Estate.

I am super excited about my future real estate career and remain passionate about supporting our local community and businesses. I was humbled by the support of my nomination to Chair Business SJ and wish to thank you all for your confidence; I will work to repay your trust by promoting and supporting business growth and networking within SJ.

As a resident and now a local real estate representative, I look forward to working with you to grow Business SJ.
